In medical practice, there are two key parts: the diagnosis which identifies and names the disease or condition; and the treatment which might be in the form of prescription drugs, surgery, etc. While at Applied Nutrition Canada, we do not diagnose or treat disease, using our Nutrition Response Testing™ method we also have two parts: the analysis & assessment and the personalized health improvement program.
Analysis & Assessment
In the analysis phase, where acupressure points are used to test the body's reflexes, it is possible to indicate the effect that the energy present or not present in any specific area / organ is having on the body. This system of monitoring your body at each visit has been clinically proven to be extremely accurate and therefore quite useful in allowing us to identify what the body needs and how well we are meeting that need. It is an extremely effective tool in helping us to help you to reach your goals at achieving your next stage of improved health. Our assessment consists of:
- A Thorough health history
- A Review of current diet
- A HeartMath™ bio-energetic assessment
- Basic measures of health, blood pressure, pulse, etc.
- NRT™ - muscle response testing
How Does Out Testing Actually Work?
Suppose you were to be hooked up to an electrocardiograph (ECG) machine to assess and measure your heart health. That would make sense to you, right? What is actually happening during this procedure is electrical energy from the heart is running over the wires where the energy pattern from this reading is recorded in the form of a graph or chart which is then analyzed. At Applied Nutrition Canada, specific testing occurs at various muscles or accupressure points by the clinician's own hand instead of connecting electrodes to these points being tested. If the reflex is active, or that area of the body requires some attention, the nervous system will respond by reducing energy to that muscle and it will weaken, or drop. This drop signifies an underlying dysfunction, which can be or is affecting your health.
The Personalized Health Improvement Program
When an area of your body is active, or the muscle "drops", our next step is to test high quality nutrition formulas against that area to determine which combination will bring its reflexes back to strength. Our clinical experience then tells that when we have found the correct nutritional formula, as indicated by this procedure, we are able to work out a highly personalized improvement program schedule that addresses the underlying deficiency or imbalance.
